There's Light at the End of the Tunnel

Today marks the day that I am 26 weeks and 6 days pregnant with our little miracle, Owen!  I can't believe it, but it feels amazing to finally say that "I am in the 3rd trimester!!!"  It's here and I am beyond thrilled, anxious, nervous and so excited to meet our little man.

I was talking to my friend Kelley today and I said to her, "Do you know what today is?!"  She replied with "3 months to the day until Owen is expected to be here?"  My jaw dropped, I looked at the calendar hanging beside my desk and saw "March 29th."  Holy sh!t, she's right!!  That totally snuck up on me.  We are about 3 months (if he's on time) away from meeting our sweet son.  Ahhhhh!!!

Today is a good day!

Last night he was a crazy man, dancing all over the place.  I got home from work, cooked and ate dinner and he started the party.  It was unreal to see.  My belly was moving all over.  I told Matt that this was the 1st time that it actually looked like there might be an alien in there.  I have been waiting for this moment.  I hope there's another dance party on the agenda for tonight!

Nursery

I have the greatest parents in the world and Owen is going to have the greatest Nana and Pop in the world.  My Mom just called me to let me know that Owen now has a place to lay his little "keppi" when he sleeps.  The crib has been ordered!!  I cannot wait until it get here!  I'm so ready to start on his nursery.

I have all these ideas going on in my head that I'm ready to start on them.  I've slowly started buying some crafts for some of the decor I am going to do.  I have some very crafty friends and family that are going to help me.  Nikki is super gifted in the department of the curtains, woodworking and lettering.  Missy is amazing at the pictures we are doing in his room.  My mother-in-law is amazing at sewing, so we are going to have a craft day and make a couple pillows.  I cannot wait to have it all done.  It's going to be the best room in the house, but what would you expect for the greatest baby EVER?!  Here are a few ideas I have for the room that we will be working on.  I can't wait to see how it will all come together!

Here's the bedroom furniture we are getting and the amazing, beautiful crib that is on it's way!!

Thank you, Nana and Pop!!

Matt is the handyman of the house.  We picked out some closet shelving that we liked for organization, so we'll get this for him to install.

I found this sign on Etsy and fell in love with it.  Nikki and I are going to have a craft day and make one.  It will either go on the wall or on one of the shelves that I am going to have Matt hang.

Missy is making these on the computer.  We're not doing them on canvas.  We'll print them on card stock and frame them for above his crib.

These name blocks are super cute and thought they'd look perfect on his dresser or one of the shelves.  This is another craft for Nikki and I.

Nikki (I told you she was crafty), found these curtains.  They're actually white curtains with navy blue stripes painted on them.  I'm going to go to IKEA and get some white curtains and we'll paint the stripes.  It looks super easy, from the tutorial.

I am so in love!!  Not only with my little man (and Matt), but with this bedding.  I didn't want to do anything to baby-ish or themed.  I wanted to go modern.  I found this at Pottery Barn Kids and loved it!!  We're not doing a comforter...  Let's be realastic - no baby ever uses it.  We're sticking with the bumper, crib sheet and crib skirt.  It will go perfect in Owen's room.

The crib will be a dark espresso color, so this is what it'll look like against the color of the crib.

I love gray, so this color yarn is the color gray that I am hunting down for the walls.  I don't want anything too light, but nothing dark.  This was perfect and right in between.  We may also add wainscoting to lighten the room a bit.  We'll see when we go to Home Depot this weekend.

I was looking online, last night, at gliders and rockers and came across this chair.  I really love it!!  It's a plain glider and has an ottoman, but I'm up in the air with the ottoman idea.  This picture doesn't do any justice, but it's white with navy pinstripe and piping.  Too cute!!

My mother-in-law is going to help me make some pillows.  Not sure if this is the design we'll do, but it will be in the navy, white, grey and yellow color scheme.  They'll look cute on the rocker/glider we decide on.

This initial picture will be my first attempt at a craft.  I'm doing things a bit different and will be sure to post the completed project.  It will be in a frame, on yellow and white gingham card stock and I'm doing a yearn letter "O."

I don't even know if I have to explain this picture.  It's perfect and will definitely be in Owen's nursery.

These elephants were too cute to pass up.  I would like to do them, but don't want the walls and decor to get too busy.  I may do 1, instead of 3.  We'll see what all we even end up using before I do these.

This picture is a MUST!  My Grandpa Joel always said this saying to us, every time we'd see or talk to him, "I love you to the moon and back, from this universe to the next."

I hope this "vision board" of pictures gives you an idea of the nursery we are wanting to do.  I will be sure to post updates on the progress once we get the ball rolling.  CAN'T WAIT!

I'm Back

At least i hope to be!!  I didn't realize how long it has been since I last updated.  Life has been crazy and I kinda forgot about the whole blogging thing.  It's hard to keep up with, that's for sure.

So...  Where do I even start?  Today, I am 25 weeks and 6 days pregnant.  Baby boy is growing good and moving around like crazy.  Tomorrow marks 26 weeks and then the following Friday, we are in 3rd trimester!!  I can't believe it.  Time went by so slow in the beginning and now it seems like it's starting to fly!  We have a countdown, too.

99 DAYS until our due date!!!

I can't believe we are in the double digits.  I love it, but there is so much to get done.  I should probably jump on that.

We have a name for our little man, Owen Michael Duke.  I love it!  I can't wait to see his little face that goes with his name.  I have always loved the name Owen and Michael is a family name.  We thought the two together sounded great.

I have been feeling good and all of our doctor's appointment have been going very well.  The fibroid that I have hasn't grown in a month, which is fantastic news and it's located in a spot that we won't have to have c-section because of it.  That's a plus!!  We had an appointment on Thursday, March 15 and Owen was measuring right on track and weighing in at a whole 1lb, 10oz.  Our next appointment is in a couple weeks.  We are still seeing the OB and the Perinatalogist, once a month.  The OB has us "dating around" other doctor's in the practice, so we get a feel of them when I go into labor.  All of them are great so far, but my fingers are staying crossed that we get Dr. Nix.  It's nice going to see the Perinatalogist just for the fact that we get to see our baby boy once a month in an ultrasound.  I can't seem to get enough!!

It's hard having the cutest little boy in the whole wide world!!

Just for laughs, here are a few belly shots from the past weeks.  Owen is getting lots of room in this growing belly.

Update on Our Little One

I am so sorry that I have been MIA these past few weeks.  I've been hardcore slacking and I apologize.  It's been busy at work and busy at home.  I will try and be better.  I know…  You've heard that before...  I'm really going to try.

Today we've hit a milestone and had 2 great doctor's appointments this week.  Today marks the 20th week of pregnancy, which means that we are "half baked" or at the halfway mark until we get to meet our little one. It's amazing to be this far along and it's even more amazing that I get to feel this stinker move around.  I am in love!!

We went to our regular doctor on Monday and she did the monthly check-up.  We checked my weight and blood pressure.  I'm up 15lbs for the entire pregnancy, so far.  It's hard seeing those numbers go up when I step on that scale.  My blood pressure was perfect and she said I am doing good and healthy so far.  We checked the heartbeat of the baby and it was in the 150-160's.  Our doctor's bet is still for a girl.  We'll see!  She talked to us for a bit and then she said that she would like us to "date" the other doctor's in the practice for on-call purposes so I can be familiar with them when I go into labor.  Our next appointment is set for March 6th.  We're looking forward to it!

Thursday came around and it was time for the BIG appointment!  The one we had been waiting for!  It had been 8 weeks since out last ultrasound and we were ready to see our little munchkin and finally find out what we're baking in here.  This appointment was the baby's anatomy scan and it was with the perintologist (the high-risk doctor).  Don't panic, I'm considered high-risk because of the fibroid I have.  We went in and told the ultrasound tech that we didn't want to know the sex of the baby, but to check it and write it on a piece of paper and stick it in a sealed envelope.  This is because we are doing a Gender Reveal Party tomorrow (I'll explain all of this later).  It took a minute for her to get some good measurements, since the baby was being stubborn.  S/he was laying the wrong way with its face down.  She made me turn on my side to get the baby to move.  Looks like we still have a stubborn one on our hands!  So the tech eventually took all of the measurements and said everything looked great.  Our baby was measuring right on track, to the day.  She went to check the gender and measure the legs.  We closed our eyes super tight and she said she got a great, clear picture!  I'm so excited!!  The tech left and the perintologist came in to take more measurements.  She said that we had the best looking baby she had seen all day!  I had to agree, as we already knew this.  It was great to hear though.  She said the baby and everything looked perfect!  She looked at my fibroid and said it looked good.  It was in a spot that isn't concerning, but to call if it causes any pain, as pain can cause inflammation which can then go on to cause pre-term labor.  The slightest pain, I will be calling!  The fibroid had grown and it was measuring in inches and bigger than my uterus, which is pretty big.  Again, she wasn't concerned about it in the least bit.  We have an appointment with her again, in 5 weeks, to keep up with my fibroid and monitor its growth.  This appointment is on March 15th - can't wait until we can see our little one, again!

Onto the Gender Reveal Party...  We planned a party for this Saturday.  Matt and I have no idea what we are having, but we're super excited to find out.  Our minds keep changing on a daily basis.  So, we closed our eyes when the ultrasound tech checked the baby's gender.  She wrote the results down and sealed the envelope up.  We even made her seal a picture of the results in a separate envelope so we had proof.  Right after the doctor's appointment I drove that envelope to the baker and they are baking a cake fro Saturday.  She is going to make it either pink or blue, on the inside, depending on the results the tech wrote down.  I'm picking up the cake tomorrow morning and when we cut the cake that afternoon with everyone, we'll find out along with everyone else, what we're having!  I will be sure to update you all, as soon as we find out, along with some pictures.

Below are a few pictures of baby from our anatomy scan, yesterday.  I know...  It really IS the cutest baby you've ever seen!

New Notices

This will be a real quick post, but I am starting to realize new things this week, going into my 17th week of pregnancy.  So much to look forward to.

I think I may felt the baby!  I'm not sure if what I felt was definitely the baby, but it was 3 little, almost pushes, in my lower abdomen area.  I would relate it to a twitch, kind of.  I felt something similar last week, but wrote it off.  Could this be the beginnings of me feeling our baby?!

I am a bottomless pit these days.  I just ate lunch at 12:30 and I am already starving, again.  Time for snack #3.

New favorites:
  • Fruity Pebbles Cereal
  • Clementines
  • Goldfish Crackers
Off to go feed the little one!

16 Weeks

How Far Along? 16 weeks

Maternity Clothes? I am officially in them, yes.  My sister-in-law, Suzanne, and I went shopping last weekend so I could get a few items.  My pants quit fitting and I wasn't feeling comfy in my shirts (those still mostly fit).  I got 2 pairs of jeans, a pair of work pants and a few shirts.  Luckily, my sweet husband took me to Target, too, and I got a few shirts to add to my collection.  Next on the list - bras.

Weight Gain?  1 lb. since our last appointment.  I think I am at 6lbs. total.  I'll double check that at the next one.

Stretch Marks?  None, thankfully.  Suzanne surprised me with some stretch mark prevention goodies that I have been using.  I love them!

Sleep?  All through the night.  Every once in a while I get up to pee, but that's not every night.

Best Moment of the Week?  Getting some clothes that are super comfortable and fit!  I should have done that weeks ago!

Movement?  Nothing I can feel, yet.  Apparently, I have an anterior placenta, which means I won't feel movement as soon as most people.  Dr. says around 20 weeks.

Gender? I am not sure at this point.  My gut says girl, but I've got nothing.

What I miss?  Seeing my baby on an ultrasound.

Symptoms:  Nada.  I had nausea the past 2 days, for a minute, but ti didn't stay long and it didn't return today.

What I’m looking forward to?  Feeling movement and finding out what we're having.

Weekly Wisdom:  Maternity clothes are AMAZING!

Milestones: My bump is growing and baby is the size of an avocado - growing like a weed!

Emotions: I am actually starting to feel like we are actually having this baby in June!

This week baby is the size of an avocado.  (Not sure why this one isn't green).

Here's is my growing bump:

15 Week Appointment

I wish I had recent pictures to show, but we did not get an ultrasound at this appointment, unfortunately.  I haven't seen our baby since 12 weeks (at our NT Scan) and it feels like it's been a lifetime.  We went to the Doctor on Monday, January 9th.  I was super scared to get on the dreaded scale, as I feel like I have gained 100 lbs and it had been a month since our last appointment.  There was no telling what that number was going to jump to!  Did I tell you that I only weigh myself at the Dr.?  I never get on our scale at home.  Well, to my surprise, I only gained 1 lb since our last appointment at 11 weeks and she said everything looks great.  She said I was on the lower side of weight gain, but she wasn't worried about it since there was plenty of time to redeem myself.  We heard the heartbeat and it's strong and steady in the 150's.  She says that it's still girl range, but still, not to go buy anything.  We'll be impatiently waiting until we find out.

Unfortunately, we won't get another ultrasound until our 20 week appointment.  She is sending me to the Dr. that did my NT Scan because that's who found a fibroid on my uterus.  They aren't very concerned with it interrupting the pregnancy or the baby's development because of where it is located.  It is also benign, so that's a plus.  At the 20 week ultrasound it is much more in depth and they will have many more details as to what all this fibroid entails.  My Dr. said it's very rare that anything bad happens with these and they are more annoying than anything, but she wants to make sure everything looks normal.  Again, she doesn't see it being any sort of problem.  We'll also be able to find out if I am baking a little Prince or Princess!!!  The only thing that could be a problem is delivery and depending on exactly where it is (at the time of delivery) and how big it gets, I may have trouble delivering naturally and may have to get a C-Section.  We'll see when it gets a little closer though.  I'm open to whatever way is safest for our little one to arrive healthy.

We left the appointment feeling great about everything.  She explained it all to us and we will know more at our 20 week ultrasound.  Until then, we have a 19 week appointment with our Dr. and that won't be an ultrasound either.  I hate not being able to see our sweet pea.

Duplicate

Sorry for the duplicate post.  Maybe I haven't been gone as long as I thought.  I just took a quick glance at by blog and realized that I already posted about our reveal.  Oops!  Damn pregnancy brain!

xoxo

Recap

I have been completely slacking.  I know and I apologize.  I feel like it's been crazy.  Maybe it's because I am usually posting at work (shh!  Don't tell my boss) and work has been pretty busy.  I'll try and get better.  Here's for a quick recap...

New Year's Eve came and the reveal went just as planned!  We had the family over for a little New Year's Eve party.  I had hosted a baby shower for my sister-in-law, earlier in the day, so some of the family was already over.  Everyone came over, we hung out, had some food and snacks and then Matt's mom had a bag full of gifts for my 2 nieces who were in New Jersey over Christmas.  They all went to visit my other sister-in-law's family.  They all opened their presents and we were trying out our new video camera for Christmas, taping everything.  After the girls were done opening their presents, Matt and I told our parents that we had a gift for them that came later than expected.  It was a delayed Christmas present.  I gave one gift bag to Matt's mom and one gift bag to my parents.  Matt's mom dug in, grabbed the picture frame and started getting tears in her eyes, while hugging the frame.  My mom looked at her and "knew" what t had to do with.  She finished opening her and my Dad's gift and lost it as soon as she realized what it meant.  We have an addition to the family!!  My Dad was very confused as he thought the empty baby shoes were from our previous loss.  Good thing my brother was there to explain it to him.  Haha!  Once his light bulb went off, he shouted, "My baby is having a baby!"  Then, got up and gave me a big hug.  There were lots of screams, tears, laughter and hugs.  Everyone is so excited and can't wait for our little arrival in June!  We caught it all on tape and it is priceless to watch.  I will try and upload the video at some point, but I'm not making any promises as to when that will be.

I know I missed Week 14 & Week 15 bump pictures, so here they are:

Happy New Year - We're finally OUT...

... and it feels amazing!  We told all of our families over New Years Eve and they are all super excited (as we knew they would be).  My mom has already started buying things.

We had family pictures taken when Jonathan was in town for Thanksgiving.  The "reveal" picture, below, is one that we had taken.  We wrapped it up and gave it to my parents and Matt's mom as a late Christmas gift.  As soon as they opened it, they knew exactly what the picture represented and burst into tears, crying and screaming (mostly done by my mom).  My brother had to explain to my Dad what the picture was, since my Dad thought the empty shoes were for the baby we lost in June.  Once he understood, he jumped up and said, "My baby is having a baby!"  It was a priceless reaction from everyone!  I can't wait to watch the video footage that we took.  I should be priceless!

No one can wait until June, when our little one is due to arrive.

Ahhh!  Have I told you how great it feels to be "out?!"

13 Weeks - 2nd Trimester, Here we Come!

How Far Along?  13 weeks

Maternity Clothes? Nothing new yet.  My best friend Kristen gave me a few things and has some more to pass down once she goes through her closet.  It's great because she was pregnant the same time 2 years ago, so all the seasons will match up.  I'll have to say though...  Everything maternity that I have worn so far is super comfy!

Weight Gain?  I feel like this answer should be a big fat YES.  I am still refusing to weigh myself, so I'm not sure of the numbers.

Stretch Marks?  None, thankfully.

Sleep?  I'm getting more sleep.  I've actually had a couple nights that I didn't even wake up to pee.  Milestone!

Best Moment of the Week?  Christmas was a blast and so much fun with family.  We can find our baby on the doppler with no problems, now, which is great.

Movement?  Nothing I can feel, yet.

Gender? Not a clue.  My mind changes - week to week.  Before last week, I was thinking boy.  Now I am leaning towards girl.  I'm not sure if the Dr. put that in my head after our last appointment or if it's the recent breakouts that I have been experiencing.

What I miss?  Buttoning my pre-pregnancy pants.  Although, it's not really something I am missing because I am so looking forward to my bump.

Symptoms:  They're all pretty much disappearing.  I've been feeling good.  All I seem to have now is feeling nausea when I am hungry.

What I’m looking forward to?  Revealing the baby news to our family on New Year's Eve!

Weekly Wisdom:  Eat when you're hungry, otherwise you'll feel sick.

Milestones: We officially made it to 2nd trimester.  The 13w3d mark landed on Monday, which was the end of 1st trimester for being pregnant the actual 10 months.

Emotions: I am actually starting to feel like we are actually having this baby in June!

NT Scan Results

Quick Update:

We got a call from the Dr.'s office with our results from the NT Scan we got done last week.  They called us the Friday after our scan, which was awesome and super fast.  They told us it would take 5-7 days, but they were way faster.  The nurse called me when I was out with my aunt and cousin shopping and gave me the results...

Downs Syndrome: 1 in over 10,000
Trisomy 13: 1 in over 10,000
Trisomy 18: 1 in over 10,000

She followed with "you can't get any better numbers than that!"  I was so excited for the news.  We got a healthy little stinker cooking!!!  I can't wait to see our sweet pea on 01/09/2012.

NT Scan = Success

Yesterday we went in for out NT Scan and everything went great! Baby was measuring 12 weeks and 2 days - only 3 days behind, which is much better than the measurements we had initially gotten in the beginning.  It had us at 7 days behind how far along I was.  I will be 13 weeks tomorrow.  The Dr. gave me a new due date of 06/29/2012 - 07/02/2012.  I hope we get a firmer one at our next appointment. Our little one was bouncing around the screen for a minute, but then was chilled out. Looks like we have a calm one, for the time being.  It was so amazing to see him/her kick its feet, move its arms and roll around.  All of the measurements for the chromosomal abnormality checks were right on track. The Dr. did see a fibroid on my left ovary that was measuring around 6cm, but he didn't seem too concerned with it. I'll ask my Dr. to take a look at it, next time I see her.  The Dr. we saw wasn't with the practice I normally go to.  He told me that the fibroid with grow and move with the hormones, but it's benign and not cancerous.  Hopefully, we'll get more details when we go to our next appointment on January 9th.

Here are a couple pictures of our little sweet pea.  We got 4 pictures altogether, but I only have these 2 to share right now.  Isn’t this the cutest baby you have ever seen in your whole life?!  I am so in love!

Family Time (Sneak Peek)

A very great frond of ours, April, takes our family pictures all the time.  We had Jonathan over Thanksgiving this year and wanted to get our annual Christmas cards/family pictures done.  She does such an amazing job and her pictures are always so wonderful!  Here are a few.  I can't wait to get all of them back.  We did a few "baby announcement" pictures, too.  I'm excited to see them.  These are just a few we had to chose from, that were ready, for our Christmas cards this year.

More to Come.

12 Weeks

How Far Along?  12 weeks

Maternity Clothes? I bought 1 pair of maternity jeans, but they are a little big.  I guess I am in between sizes - regular clothes and maternity.  None of my pants button all the way, but maternity pants all fall down.  Looks like I will be sticking with my Bella Band a little longer.

Weight Gain? I refuse to weigh myself, unless I have to, at the Dr's office.  I'm sure it's steady.

Stretch Marks?  None, thankfully.

Sleep?  I'm getting more sleep.  It's nice that I am not peeing as much as I was at the beginning.

Best Moment of the Week?  Getting our doppler and being able to find the baby and the heartbeat all by ourselves.

Seeing my little one on the ultrasound screen.  It's been 19 days!  That's the longest we've gone.

Symptoms:  Not too many, right now.  The same as I have been having.  Emotions are a little more intense, dizzy spells have started and headaches have been liking to take up camp in my head.

What I’m looking forward to?  Our NT Scan tomorrow!

Weekly Wisdom:  Eat when you're hungry, otherwise you'll feel sick.

Milestones: 12 weeks down, which "some" say is 2nd timester.

Emotions: Yes!

We've got a growing little baby, now the size of a lime:

We Have a Home Heartbeat

A friend of mine that lives in Michigan has become a real Saint!  She is around 20 weeks pregnant with her 2nd child and can feel her baby move, so she didn't need her doppler anymore.  She wrote me on facebook and asked if I wanted to borrow it.  I jumped on the opportunity and accepted her offer.  I couldn't wait for it to get to me!  I spoke to Matt about getting one, in the past, and he talked me out of it.  He said I would be addicted and I would freak out if we couldn't find a heartbeat (he's probably right, but we can't let him know that).  I kept telling myself that I would be fine, as I know that little babies like to hide sometimes and it's not a guarantee that we will always be able to hear it - especially being rookies on our end.  We went to the Dr. on December 12th and we heard the heartbeat right away with the doppler.  She's a pro, though, and does these things everyday.

Well, our package arrived yesterday and as soon as I got home from work and saw that little box, I knew exactly what it was - OUR DOPPLER!  Matt and I sat down and ate dinner and then tested it out.  It was like Christmas and we were so excited to play with our new toy - at least I was.  I asked that he try it first since I hear that the mommy is usually nervous and sometimes it's easier for the daddy to find, since he's not stressed about it.  Boy, was that wrong.  Matt acted like he was a pro and knew exactly where to put the wand to hear the heartbeat.  After all, he did watch the Dr.  After 5 minutes, we were having no luck.  I was trying to coach him how to hold the wand, where to put it and how slow to move it.  Typical man, he was being stubborn and "knew what he was doing."  After a bit, he gave up and I took over.  I guess it's a mother's intuition, but I found the baby within 30 seconds and it, again, was the most amazing sound I had ever heard.  Who knew that a train could sound so cute and musical?  I didn't want to stop listening.  The heart rate was still in  the 160-170 range (the same as it was in our last appointment).

I want to go home and listen so badly, but I can't.  I am going to try so hard not to use it everyday.  It will be a difficult task, but I think I can do it.  I'm staying strong and only going to use it in the waiting time between appointments.

We have our NT (Nuchal Translucency) Scan tomorrow that I am looking forward too.  This is an very in depth ultrasound where they will take a bunch of measurements and test for possible birth defects.  I am sure everything will be fine.  I am really excited to see how much our little one has grown.  S/he will be out of the gummy bear stage and looking like a real baby.  I may cry - I've been pretty emotional these days, as I am sure Matt can vouch.

We're so close to officially entering 2nd trimester!  I can't believe I've made it this far!  I am so happy and so blessed.  It's such an amazing feeling.

11 Weeks

How Far Along?  11 weeks

Maternity Clothes? Same as last week.  Pants are still tight, but my Bella Band has been my saving grace.  I've come to find out that more and more jeans are getting harder to button, if they button at all.  I did order my 1st pair of maternity jeans last week from Gap and I can't wait to get them.  Hope they fit!

Weight Gain? My Dr. said, today, I was up 2 more lbs.

Stretch Marks?  None, thankfully.

Sleep?  I'm getting more sleep.  Last night, I didn't get up once to sleep.  It was nice - slept through the night!  I'll get it while I can.

Best Moment of the Week?  Hearing our sweet little baby's heartbeat for the 1st time.

Movement?  Nothing I can feel, yet.

Gender? Not a clue.  I think boy and so does Matt, but Dr. thinks girl, just from the high hear rate.  We'll see in a couple months!

What I miss?  Nothing.  I am loving every minute of being pregnant.  Good, bad, ugly - bring it on!

Symptoms: They are starting to go away.  I'm still peeing a lot, but I'm hardly ever sick and now I can stay up until 10 o'clock!  That's an accomplishment!  I'm pretty emotional these days - I'll cry at the drop of a hat.

What I’m looking forward to?  Our NT Scan on December 21st (next Wednesday).

Weekly Wisdom: Don't watch baby birth shows...  Cry fest!

Milestones: Another week down and we got to hear our sweet pea's heartbeat!!

Emotions: ALL!

Here is the beginnings of my little bump.  Please note that this picture is after 3 breadsticks and 2 pieces of pizza, so it's a baby, baby and a food baby:

At 11 weeks, our sweet little angel is the size of a fig:

I Am So in Love

We had our 11 week appointment today.  I thought we were going to get an ultrasound, but instead we got to experience the doppler, which is JUST AS amazing!  Our Dr. found the heartbeat right away and as soon as I heard that little thumper (sounds kind of like a train), I had to fight back the tears.  It was the most beautiful song that my ears have ever heard.  Our Dr. said that the heart rate was in the 160-170 range and perfectly healthy.  She also said, "Us doctors like to play a game and with a heart rate that high, we say it's a girl."  She told us not to go out and go shopping or paint, but it's a fun game they like to play.  We'll see if she's right in just a couple months.

A friend of mine, Jaki, emailed me on facebook the other night.  She is 16 weeks and can feel her baby move, so she asked if I wanted to borrow her doppler.  I can't wait to get it.  Hopefully I can find the heartbeat as fast as the Dr. did.  I promise not to get addicted (which will be a feat in itself) and I promise not to over use it.  I will try and out and take video to share out little one's heartbeat with all of you.  It's amazing the things they have these days.

We have our NT Scan on Wednesday, December 21st.  It's a very in depth ultrasound that will test for Trisomy 13, 18 and Downs, along with a couple other possible birth defects.  Although, I am nervous, I do believe that everything with our baby is perfect.

I, also, wanted to update you all on my emotional breakdown that I had last week.  I blame it on the emotions.  I was talking to a friend (and I will give my husband credit that he told me this over and over, but for some reason things stick when you hear it from others)...  I was venting about how stressed I was and how I was feeling.  She told me it was completely normal to feel that way when you are pregnant after a loss.  She had very similar thoughts.  Her husband told her that this is all in God's hands and no matter what happens, it's out of our control and there is no point on stressing our selves out over something that we can't do anything about.  That has really stuck with me and I fell better than ever now, after that piece of advice.

I am pregnant and cannot wait to meet my sweet baby!!!

Last thing, promise!  We were planning on announcing over Christmas, but have decided that we want to wait until we have both of our families all together so they can hear this exciting news at the same time.  Jonathan will be in for New Year's, as it's our turn for this holiday, so we have decided to have a little NYE party at our house.  We will announce then.  I cannot wait.  I'll be around 14 weeks.  I hope I can hide my belly until then.  As for how we're going to do it, that's still in the works.  We've been brainstorming ideas, so we'll see.  I will definitely keep you posted.

Almost to the 11 Week Mark

I can't believe I have made it this far.  Here are a few pictures of our sweet munchkins growth.  It's so amazing and I am starting to get the beginnings of a little bump - so exciting!

The 1st picture, at the top, is the test I took when I was 2 days late.

The 2nd picture is when we went for the 1st ultrasound.  Baby was about 6 weeks.

3rd picture is when we had to go for another ultrasound due to bleeding.  Our sweet pea was around 7 weeks.

The 4th picture is another bleeding episode that we had and baby was about 8.5 - 9 weeks.  Our Dr. was unable to get a great measurement due to our bean being very stubborn and not wanting to get into the needed position.

Lastly, I took this picture this morning, before leaving the house for work.  I am almost 11 weeks!  I can't wait for our ultrasound on Monday.  I bet baby is growing like a weed!
